234 Sandbox!

Here you can play around and get used how to work with the site, so we all can be administrators. Go ahead do what ever you want. I don't think you can break anything. And when you feel comfortable, you can go out into the site and add images and what-not.

First, create your own sandbox page.

1. Place the mouse over the menu bar at the top of the page. A bar that reads "Edit Navigation" should appear.

2. Click on "Edit Navigation."

3. A box will appear that lists all the pages in the Room 234 site. Under Sandbox, click on the icon with the + sign. This creates a new page.

4. Title the page something like Sandbox [your name]. If you're one of the first to start playing, you can rename Sandbox 1 or Sandbox 2.

5. Make sure that your new sandbox is a sub-page of Sandbox. Click the right arrow so it is indented under the main page.

6. Have fun in your sandbox. Add different elements to the page, like a header, photos, and text. To add an element, click on Add new element on the side bar. You can also place your mouse over an existing element, and click on the + sign on the left (below the trash bin).

NOTE: If you want to mess around with layouts and stuff that affects the entire site, feel free to do it at sane8sbox.jimdo.com. It's the same password.

@hoppe Your bear picture is wonderful. The dark brown background and white outline of the bear fit its coloring, its furriness, and its apparition-like legend (that is, its stealth ability to be seen and then quickly disappear). And I like the way the woman is part of the bear, walking in its footsteps. But I'm not sure of the significance of the woman's head not being on her body. The words in the poem (thanks for the English translation) perfectly describe this mighty animal. But I'm left wondering whether the bear ate the woman. Also, what materials did you use for the painting?

    so I'm answering here now?...
I have problems to understand this part of what you wrote: "and its apparition-like legend (that is, its stealth ability to be seen and then quickly disappear)." Do you refer to the title with legend, or the poem, or general meanings of the bear? Could you say it in different words again what you mean?
The woman's head in the bear's belly: It's an image I had when doing a "shamanic journey" (?)- the bear ate my head ;)
If I look at the picture, I'm both - the woman and the bear... and for me it's something like giving the leading role of the brain/thinking away and trying to be lead by another force - it's quite relaxing and grounding to imagine your head being in your belly ;). You could also see it as the bear carrying a child in her womb, being pregnant with a new changed thinking or awareness or whatever you associate with the head.
In bodyworks there's a connection between the brain and the bowels. The bowels is said to be second brain, you're digesting not only food but also feelings and thoughts with it. Biodynamic bodywork is based on that with it's massages where they also listen to the "noises" of the bowels ;)

uhm, I painted on cardboard and waxed it so I could scratch into the paint afterwards more easily. As it's tempera colours I put a little dish soap in it, so that the surface tension was reduced.

"giving the leading role of the brain/thinking away and trying to be lead by another force"
Bear medicine reflects love and the feminine and usually means you need to take care of your self and make use of your power to protect. Eating your head? I have thoughts about this.

hoppe, sorry for the word confusion. My words "apparition-like legend" refer to the bear's legendary (that is, well-known) ability to usually not be seen and when seen we only get quick glimpses of it (like an apparition, which I thought was well expressed by the white outline). And thanks for the explanation, which added a narrative to your painting. Please continue to show us your creativity.

HELP! San, hoppe, anyone. I managed to add a botanical illustration and a drawing to my sandbox page. Is there a way to put them side by side?

sorry, I'm answering logged in, because I can see what I try to describe to you only then. It's hoppe. You have to choose Photogallery instead of Photo if you want to have them besides each other. But then you only have quite small pics, which can be clicked at and with that pop up in bigger size.
If you choose that (look at my upload at pictures in the Jemmagerie), you need to click on browse first, choose the two uploads you want (they are shown in a list then), and then click on upload.
With proportion you can say in which form they are shown as little pics. With size you can make them bigger or smaller. With style you choose if there is a frame around them or not. If you click on view, you can add captions which are shown when you see the pics in their full size.
If you have set everything like you want it, just click on save.

Hoppe I uploaded 8 pictures. To add a title below each one do I use "Heading" or "Text?" Also do I have to add the title before I put the next picture up? If so I'll have to start again (learning by making mistakes).

    hoppe (Wednesday, 02 November 2011 17:17)

@Randy... no the title below each one is in the Photogallery bit itself - no extra headline or text segment needed.... you have to click on view, there you can add a title/caption for each pic.

@Libellule and Kirsty Look early in episode 93. It is very brief and she appears to be quite hungover in the scene
